Praised by Horace and Pliny because of its healthy air and fine oil, Venafro lies at the foot of Monte Cerino. Do not miss the ruins of a Theatre, an Amphitheatre and Aqueduct from Roman times. The Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral has its apses covered with Roman fragments. We also recommend a visit to the National Museum, the Angioino Castle and to the Palazzo Caracciolo (15th Century).
