Taormina is very famous, for its beauty, its view, its cultural life and all the past well-known memories. Its tourist development began one century and half ago, when the great travellers, like Admiral Nelson’s niece, Lady Bridport, Wolfgang Goethe, Guy de Maupassant and Otto Geleng, made its beauty and history known all over Europe. Later, a group of wealthy English merchant families moved to taormina.
