Sant'Antonio di Gallura is part of the Gallura region. The Gallura landscape is characterised by its granite rocks and its harsh mountains that, even if not particularly high (Monte Limbara reaches 1350 metres above sea level), have constituted for millennia a barrier between this region and the nearby territories of Baronie and Montalbo. The countryside (municipalities of Arzachena, Luogosanto, Aggius, Tempio Pausania) is scarcely inhabited and it is still possible, in some areas, to see the organisation of the territory into folds and pens. The east coast is very jagged and continues along in a continuous series of small fiords, rock-cliffs and islets, that form the Archipelago of La Maddalena, a natural bridge towards nearby Corsica. It is the territory that is home to the Emerald Coast, holiday paradise for many in the world, with a strong tourist vocation which offers top quality reception and entertainment services.
