On the east coast of Sardinia at the mouth of the Flumendosa river lies the traditional Sardinian village of Muravera. The landscapes here along the tributaries of the Sarrabu are extremely beautiful. Muravera is set in a landscape of hills and is bordered by large lagoons where pink flamingos and many other species of bird can often be seen. Citrus groves in the distance emanate a fresh scent that mingles with the salty aroma of the sea. Muravera has a modern tourist infrastructure but luckily no large resort hotels. The visitors profit form the idyllic Costa Rei beaches which lie close at hand, whilst simultaneously enjoying the stunning landscape and prehistoric treasures of Muravera.
