The land around Giungano has the typical Mediterranean vegetation which distinguishes it as a particularly protected and uncontaminated spot. The steep path from Giungano up to the village of Trentinara has recently been renovated (easy walk of about two hours, with a difference in height of 400 mt.) enabling visitors to enjoy the view from the most panoramic “terrace” of the whole of Cilento. Silence and tranquillity have made this area a part of the “Parco Nazionale del Cilento and Vallo di Diano” recently inserted in the U.N.E.S.C.O. List of places chosen to be part of the world heritage. The ruins of Paestum are only 10 km. away, Pompei 30 km., the Amalfi coast 50 km. It is only 10 Km. to the coast of Cilento. The large sandy beach of Paestum, where there are comfortable bathing establishments, is easy to reach
