Campofilone is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ascoli Piceno in the Italian region Marche, located about 60 km southeast of Ancona and about 30 km northeast of Ascoli Piceno. The hill town of Campofilone, overlooking the Adriatic, is well known for its gastronomic speciality, the popular “maccheroncini”, egg noodles hand-cut, dating back to XV century, even mentioned in Benedictine documents.
