The Borgo Antico is part of a building which, as far back as 1200, was owned by the Countess Matilde di Canossa. It has been reconstructed in recent years, under the supervision of the Bologna "Belle Arti" Fine Art Protection Board, respecting the architectural features of the Medieval Town of which it was part and using high-quality materials for the finishing touches, such as wood, Tuscan terracotta and old stone.
