Casa Fontecchio is a nice country house northern of Florence, on the old Via Bolognese, just few minutes from the historical centre. The hilly countryside, here, is the one so familiar throughout the world and blanketed by olive groves, avenues of cypresses, and tufts of blue iris in spring time. The property, composed of 2 independent apartments, can be rent as a whole to a group of people or as single bed and breakfast rooms. This lovely stone house is an excellent base both to visit Florence and explore the typical Tuscan countryside.
The house, which borders a wood and olive groves, offers to its guests 2 independent apartments overlooking a beautiful garden. The first is composed of 2 double rooms and a sofa-bed for 2 in an ample living-room, the second has 1 double room and 1 triple room. Both units have a fully equipped kitchen, TV, bathroom with shower, garden and private car park. All rooms can be rent also separately as bed and breakfast.
This area has a solid gourmet tradition reflected in the many food festivities (sagre del cibo). In Summer especially you will have the chance to taste local products in the many local outdoor festivals. Guests, here, will savour local specialties starting from breakfast in the morning. In the warmer season breakfast is served on the farmyard with a spectacular view of Fiesole and the Cupolone.
Rooms are really fresh in Summer thanks to the thick stone walls which assure a comfortable and pleasant temperature without the use of air-conditioning. Both apartments are equipped with a independent heating system for Winter.
