A delightful Bed & Breakfast of great charm immersed in Tuscany

Filetta, a tiny medieval hamlet with fabulous views out onto the rolling Sienese countryside has not lost its important strategic position on the road leading from Siena to Grosseto and some of the most enchanting destinations of the Tuscan coast. This cluster of buildings dating back to the early 12th century has been masterly restored conserving all of the beauty and authenticity of the original architectural features. The ancient stone work has been saved just in time so as not to lose the important traces of history in which the hamlet is immersed. Once a medieval customs station, Borgo di Filetta has been recently transformed into a delightful Bed & Breakfast of great charm with furnishings and décor of a luxury quite unusual for this category of accommodation.

The establishment consists in 29 beautifully appointed rooms all with enchanting views of the hamlet and the countryside, rooms which succeed in making the guest quite forget he is in a hotel and, rather, to feel as if in his very own home in the heart of Tuscany.

The rooms within the ancient medieval structure, characterised by light earthy tones, open stone work and exposed beams, are surprisingly spacious.

All of the units are decorated with unique furnishings of the highest quality; from the large wardrobes to the comfortable chairs and sofas, from the delicate lamps in coloured glass to the sumptuous drapery which adorns the windows. The figure of the "Jockey" is recurrent - on the furniture and in the fabrics especially designed for the hotel by the owner herself. Delightful sculptures of horses continue the equestrian theme.

The large bathrooms, many of these with views out on to the surrounding countryside, are equipped with bathtubs and/or powerful showers.

A number of the rooms can more rightly be described as suites; ideal family rooms able to accommodate in total comfort parents and their children, or, for those couples wishing to indulge in a romantic sojourn, a marvellous and luxurious Tuscan retreat, difficult to resist and even more difficult to leave!
