B&B Del Giglio

The B&B Del Giglio is a typical ancient Tuscan apartment, very particular and picturesque because of the room's foreshortenings and irregular plans. It is situated inside the ancient walls of the medieval castle of San Donato in Poggio. These walls were transformed during various centuries, this is why we can still find architectural traces of the various epochs (medieval, Renaissance, nineteenth-century). The apartment is on the main street of the historical town, between the Florentine Door, the Bell Tower and the little Tower.

The apartment has a double room with bathroom "Degli Sposi" and a single room with two beds "Dell'Arco" with a bathroom in common, both rooms have view on the garden and a beautiful panorama, where we can see the surrounding villages like San Gimignano.

Inside the apartment: A big and elegant living-room with fireplace and a table that can fit six people where breakfast will be served, a furnished little kitchen, a studio with books and fitness equipments, a wine cellar that contains a collection of Chianti wines (aged and not) for you to pick, a courtyard with an ancient well that keeps the water from the rain, where an art and photographic exhibition from the owner, will take place inside the covered part.

Outside the apartment: a garden with olive trees, where long chairs and table will be at your disposal to have lunch or diner outside.

The B&B Del Giglio is situated in San Donato in Poggio, in the region of Tuscany, province of Florence.

It is a small medieval village on the summit of a hill, at 418 meters from the level of the sea, in the heart of the Chianti (area of the famous wine production Chianti Classico Gallo Nero), surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, oaks and pine woods. It is half way between the city of Florence (Km28) and Siena (Km36).

The apartment is situated in the historical village, between the Florentine Door and the Bell Tower. In the village there are several shops and services like: 2 banks, post-office, pharmacy, doctor, restaurants, pizzeria, groceries, garage, woman's hairdresser, bar, cinema, theatre, newspaper, wine bar, internet point, tourism office, bus for Florence and Siena.
