Villa Murray
A B&B in a fable-like place just outside Florence

The Villa Murray is set on a hilly position and immersed in a wide park. Even though there are traces of a pre-existent building dated XV century, the villa, comfortable and elegant, was built in the second part of the XVII century. The Murray family, owner of the Villa between XIX and XX century, made changes and improvements both in the main building and in the park. At the beginning of the XX century both the beautiful stone flight of steps and the magnificent polychrome coffered ceilings were built as well as the doors (original) still maintaining the ancient iron locks and the precious bronze handles.

The bedrooms, very spacious and finely decorated with antique furniture, are set, but one, at the first floor and they all have a private bathroom with shower and bathtub, hairdryer, view over the park or the vineyard, ADSL connection to Internet, TV and alarm call. All the bedrooms at the first floor open on a prestigious XIX century library.

The "pietra serena", according to the Tuscan customs, is present in all the Villa: from the door jambs to the stairs, the skirting boards and the decorations of the floor .During the restoration of the Villa has been made a careful work of reclamation of all the original components, but assuring the maximum level of safety and comfort.

At Villa Murray you can breathe the spirit of ancient master's abodes, The large halls are decorated with important antique furniture. Each room was restored maintaining the original structure and taking care of the typical Tuscan style. The southern side of the Villa has been enriched with a modern pool surrounded by a solarium of hand made "cotto imprunetino" with dowels of "pietra serena".

The park, created at the beginning of the XIX century by a pre-existent owner, was transformed by the Murray: the English romantic style prevailed over the formal garden inherited from the '700; the wood was enlarged and became more important because of the introduction of numerous exotic plants.

Even today it's possible to admire a rich botanic variety : stately cedars of the Atlante, palms, woods of high bamboo, age-old bushes of box and the unfailing cypresses . On the northern side of the Villa is set a beautiful vineyard with numerous fruit trees among its rows.

Villa Murray is, with no doubt, a magic place where you will be able to relish unforgettable moments.
