Toscana - Asciano - Agriturismo

An uncontaminated oasis in the middle of the 'Crete Senesi' covering more than one thousand hectares entirely enclosed to be exclusively enjoyed by those who choose it as their holiday destination and by the few people who work there. A harmonious succession of fields, pastures and woods, some ponds where guests can fish on request, truffle fields, a few buildings testifying to an active past that seems to return when you stroll on the roads and the many marked paths where it is not unusual to encounter hawks, grey herons, some roe deer, hares and a lot of pheasants from the wildlife reserve and, why not, find the calmness you may be looking for.

The feeling of being not only in a different age but even out of the world disappears when we realise that we are just a few kilometres away from cities rich in art, history and culture such as Siena, Pienza, Montalcino as well as Florence, Arezzo, Perugia, and many more.

The village La Campana has a medieval origin, but it took its current shape in the seventeenth century, when the Sienese Tolomei family of bankers built the master's villa with the chapel and enlarged the village.

The buildings have recently been restored and now you can enjoy a relaxing stay here, surrounded by the splendid landscape of the Crete Senesi, by the art and history of this unforgettable corner of Tuscany and by the eno-gastronomic delights of this region, among which the white truffle stands out.

Every apartment, furnished in style, has an independent entrance and a private shaded external space or terrace, equipped with tables and chairs for eating al fresco. The master's villa is surrounded by a large exclusive park with gazebo, and is furnished with late 19th-early 20th century pieces. All the kitchens in the apartments and in the villa are equipped with cookers, oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer.

Common areas include two swimming pools, a tennis court, children playing area, and barbecue area.

Farming is the main activity carried out in the estate with full respect of the environment. Durum wheat, which is used in making the famous Italian pasta, is our main crop, followed by cereals for animal feeding, meadows for forage production and livestock pasturing; a small olive grove yields an excellent extra-virgin olive oil. Stock farming - cattle for meat and sheep for milk - is another significant activity here and it is not unusual, walking through the estate, to see livestock out to pasture in the meadows. Within the farm there are natural truffle grounds, where in good years the prized white truffle is harvested.
