Frances' Lodge is a country house that used to be the farmhouse and the lemon-tree-house of the nearby eighteenth century manor. It is situated on top of a hill near Siena, and yet you seem to be immersed in the silence and peace that reigns only in the open countryside. Once you go through the gate and walk down the white path, the view of the city stands out before your eyes and it remains, as a background to your stay, imprinted in your memory, with its incredible colours that light the city's skyline, along with eight acres of vineyards and olive trees, poppy red fields and nearly forgotten sounds..... birds.... cicadas.... the wind.

After an important restyling work to the East wing of our house, we now have six different accommodations: each of them has its special atmosphere, suggestive decoration or coloured furnishing. Each of the rooms has air conditioning at a small additional cost, private bathroom, satellite TV, mineral water stocked mini-fridge a kettle for tea, coffee or herbal infusions, hairdryer, swimming towels, unusual coloured blankets according to the style of the room, and light feather quilt in winter. More, our guests can have a "courtesy mobile phone" during their stay with us, at the simple cost of the phone Card. Each room can have an added bed.

Our completely fenced-in property ensures your privacy and enables you to enjoy a taste of tranquil country life (our real "slow life").

You will be greeted with a warm welcoming smile at this large house and the Tuscan countryside that surrounds it. Cool water, drinks and a basket of fresh fruits awaits you in your room. Above all, your landlords are always available to meet your needs. If you wish they will suggest little-known restaurants, out of the way places to visit, as well as the better-known ones: Chianti, San Gimignano, Volterra, Pienza and Val d'Orcia.

Breakfast is carefully prepared in Frances' kitchen, which she is especially proud of. She personally makes the very different jams and marmalades from the estate fruits: lemon, above all, from the beautiful plants in the garden, and fig or blackberry jam, following the season and the availability of fruit. But in the Breakfast Menu, in addition to the classical Continental breakfast richest list, you can also have tastings of typical tuscan products, as Cheeses: Pecorino di Pienza DOP [Origin Denomination Protected], or Tuscan Salumi, or eggs, however you want, cooked expressly for you at the moment.

If our list isn't enough, on request, you can also have French Toasts with maple or homemade lemon syrup, or fresh products of Pastry, fresh orange juice and our own production of ExtraVirgin Olive Oil IGP (Geographical Protected Indication) tasting ( the "bruschetta") and other specialties as extras. More than a breakfast, it is the Sunday Brunch!

On summertime, the sun starts to warm the swimming pool very early (at 7 am) and you will be tempted to dive in even before breakfast. The transparency of the water takes on a hue of palest blue in contrast with the surrounding pink stones, making the pool seem naturally dug out of the rocks.

The location of the pool gives you the impression of swimming towards the city, or you can relax under the jet of the hydro massage.
