he house is one kilometre above the town of Fosdinovo. It offers guests two double rooms with private bathroom and the chance to add a third bed to both. The beds are stave beds and have latex mattresses.
Breakfast is big: bread baked in a wood oven, jams, yoghurt, cereals, butter, local fresh meats and cheeses, eggs, cakes and fruit. The bread, jams and cakes are all 100% home-made. Breakfast is taken in a big teak-furnished room, in front of the fireplace, or on the terrace with a view of the sea, always accompanied by relaxing music. On request, you can order a top-quality local-style dinner.

The pictures which furnish the house are the water-colours of the owners themselves. The library has books of all kinds, mostly guides and maps of Italy. The owners have long travelled all over Italy on foot and by bicycle, have even told their story on radio and in magazines and will be more than delighted to recommend you itineraries and to swap experiences with the guests.
For those who want to rest, there is a lovely garden where you can read, take the sun or fresh air and play mini-football.
Within a 50-kilometre radius of Fosdinovo, you find "Cinque Terre", Portovenere, Lerici, Luni Antica, Carrara and the biggest marble quarries in the world, the Apuan Alps, the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine, Versilia and Garfagnana.
The medieval town of Fosdinovo is on the edge of the Natural Apuan Alps Park, in Lunigiana, at an altitude of 500 metres. The panorama ranges from the islands of the Tuscan archipelago to Corsica and from the gulf of La Spezia to the Tyrrhenian coast as far as Livorno. The territory is extremely varied: in restricted spaces, you find olive groves and vineyards, Mediterranean scrub, prairies and conifer and chestnut woods.

In Fosdinovo, you can visit a splendid castle, owned by the Torrigiani-Malaspina family, where Dante Alighieri himself stayed.
