The very name "Casa della Maestà (His Majesty's Home)" is due to the presence of a "Majestic" statue in the corner of the garden here at the Villa; in the past, the custom was that the possessions of the Benedictine Abbey in Nonantola were distinguished by a column, a sacred symbol.
