The "La Cedrara" holiday farm company is immersed in the green countryside just seven kilometres from the "Estense" Castle in the heart of Ferrara. The name, too, has been chosen to evoke the tastes of an ancient "Este" area delight: the citron tree. The holiday farm has been built within an old small "country hut", a barn from the rural court, and has been completely restructured. Wood and uncovered beams, old-style furniture and all mod cons including air-conditioning, televisions, telephones, safes, mini-bars and independent adjustable heating make your stay here at this holiday farm especially pleasant and relaxing. The holiday farm has four rooms with bathrooms. Three of these rooms are double rooms and, if required, can become triple rooms. There is one single room. The rooms, which all have a comfortable bathroom with shower, air-conditioning, telephones, safes, mini-bars and televisions, are furnished elegantly and in total harmony with the external environment, each room taking its name from one of the many plants flowering in the pretty garden: "Prunus Pissardi", "Lavanda (Lavender)", "Tiglio (Lime tree)" and "Cedro (Citron tree)".
The "Prunus Pissardi" Room has been given this nice little name because it is on the same side as this beautiful tree with red leaves. In Spring, its branches are covered with pretty pink flowers which grab your attention and remind you of the change of the seasons. This Room has two separate beds or a double bed (on request), a table/desk, an old Emilia-region Louis XIV-style wardrobe and four windows on two sides to provide fine lighting and a beautiful view of the garden.The "Lavender" Room takes its name from the well-known perennial herbaceous plant with the delicate scent: this Room is on the ground floor and is great in Summer too as it links up with the outside, where you can lie out in the sun or shelter in the shaded trees on one of the comfy sun beds. The Room is furnished with antique furniture and is surrounded on three sides by the garden. The "Lime tree" Room is a single room which has a large window-door protected by iron railings: the trees which can be seen from this window-door, of course, are lime trees, which line the driveway into the farm. This Room is well-lit and furnished with an antique late-Nineteenth Century wardrobe.
The main feature of the "Citron tree" Room is its warm and tranquil intimacy, with its comfy king-size Imperial bed, a corner of total privacy which also happens to lead you outside, with its space, colours and perfumes.
An old fireplace warms up the lovely area used for the hearty breakfasts, based on food produced here by the company. In Summer, have your breakfast served outdoors!
The holiday farm offers its guests a large garden of approximately 8000 square metres where you can relax to your heart's content and a park of 10000 square metres where you will find seedlings, planted in line with a policy of environmental recovery, of several tree species and local shrubs, as well as a fine collection of aromatic and medicinal herbs.
To make the most of the beautiful rural landscapes surrounding this holiday farm, you can go for long walks immersed in nature or rent bicycles for more demanding excursions.
Walking along the rows of tall poplar trees in the old farm and the serene joy of the landscapes will make your stay here unique and refined, just a stone's throw from the drowsy and exceptional beauty of Ferrara.
