Forìo is The largest Borough in Ischia measuring 12.85 square kilometres it lies an the western side of the island and has a population of 11,600 with an altitude of 788 meters above sea level in some places. The whole district alternates between quiet peaceful zones and chaotic hectic areas, hot beaches and cool hills. The district of Forio consists of almost all the western side of the island and some slopes of Mount Epomeo. The marin center and the delightful white Church of Soccorso are near the sea between two promonotories Zaro and Caruso: there are lots of mittle coves and bays dotted around the coastline with some impressive and interesting rock formations.
