A plunge into the enchanted world of castles

The Castle of Strassoldo di Sopra is situated in a village bearing the same name in the Spring-water area of the Friulan green plains not far from the seaside, from the fortress of Palmanova and the ancient Roman colony of Aquileia. Together with its twin di Sotto caste, it is set in a wonderful historical and natural environment, surrounded by a beautiful old park, with spring-water streams and rivers.

It's one of the most important and ancient castles of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and among the few that is still inhabited by the same family that built it more than a thousand years ago (the counts of Strassoldo).

In the last years the owner have carried out many works and now offer 2 wonderful suites in the ancient tower; 4 romantic double rooms in the rice mill and a charming equipped stone holiday house called La Vicinia
