| in the heart of the ancient and renewed city centre of Florence |
"La Dimora del Centro" bed and breakfast is completely renovated (we opened on march 8th 2009) and features 3 fascinating rooms ("Agnese", "Caterina", "Costanza") equipped with all comforts and a tea room ("Lavinia") at your disposal all day long, where you can prepare your own free cup of tea, coffee or infusion.
Location: "La Dimora del Centro" is located in the heart of the ancient and renewed city centre of Florence, piazza della Repubblica, and sits in a prestigious building dating back to 1890, which was also once the seat of the main florentine newspapers such as La Nazione. In this palace Eugenio Montale used to write his poems, sitting at a table of the famous Café "Giubbe Rosse".
This little bed and breakfast with its windows looking on a breathtaking city landscape offers a spectacular sight over the "Cupolone" (Brunelleschi's Dome), the "Campanile di Giotto" (the bell tower designed by Giotto). Just in the heart of Florence, a few steps from the Donatello's Column of Abundance, which marks the centre of the ancient Florentia Romana.
We are very close to the main squares and monuments of the ancient city centre: Piazza del Duomo (Duomo square), Piazza della Signoria, Galleria degli Uffizi (Uffizi Gallery), Palazzo Vecchio, Museo del Bargello, Palazzo Strozzi, Chiesa di Orsammichele (Orsammichele Church), Ponte Vecchio (the Old Bridge), Palazzo Pitti (Pitti Palace). We are also a short walk from the most elegant fashion shopping streets: Via dè Tornabuoni, Via della Vigna Nuova, Via Roma, Via dei Calzaiuoli.
