La Mandragola
An extremely charming accommodation in San Gimignano

Between art and nature, with its dominating and sunny location in one of the most picturesque and quiet spots in San Gimignano, Locanda La Mandragola offers its guests an unforgettable stay, in comfortable rooms with panoramic view, in the warmth of an ancient Tuscan villa. Locanda La Mandragola is located at the borders of the "Rocca di Montestaffoli" Park (ancient fortress of 1353), in a quiet position, few steps from the lively main squares of the town. Locanda La Mandragola is an ancient villa, totally and faithfully renewed, offering its guest eight rooms with bathroom and all comforts, as well as buffet breakfast.

In all rooms, in Tuscan style with wooden beams and partitions in Siennese bricks, you can find pictures by one of the most appreciated painters in San Gimignano. According to the tradition, the furniture is in "Tuscan poor art" style. Each room has mini-bar, satellite TV, direct telephone, independent air conditioning/heating. Each room has private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, towels.

A breakfast room with vaulted roof and a reading/TV room with brick arches and an old fireplace, complete the inn: 4 rooms face the garden, with view over the towers, 4 rooms overlook the "Rocca" park and the countryside.

Locanda La Mandragola has a wide garden with English lawn, two central palms of the last century, all surrounded by laurels, arbutuses and brooms, coloured by antique roses and perfumed by jasmine flowers. In the equipped garden guests can enjoy their time, relaxing or sunbathing, with view over the towers.

The peculiarity of the inn is its roof tower-terrace, overlooking the landscape between the Val d'Elsa valley and the Florentine hills. There you can enjoy the dawn or the sunset, as well as the night panorama, when the moon rises among the towers and lights up the ancient stones of the town.

Restaurant La Mandragola is located in the historical centre and it has a wide dining room and a shady outdoor terrace. Nicola the "Patron", always searching for the genuine product, wants to propose his guests a selection of typical products of our region: "Siennese Cinta" pork, "Chianina" beef, sublime ham and various sausages of "Siennese Cinta" pork, Tuscan beans, extra-virgin olive oil from farm, truffle from our woods, pure saffron from San Gimignano. All our pasta is rigorously home-made and the recipes of our cakes are taken from the tradition of our family. The cellar of La Mandragola proposes a wide selection of regional wines.
