I Palazzi is an ancient country residence on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, at about 20 km from Cortona and Montepulciano and 10 km from lake Trasimeno, easily connected to the best artistic, historic and enogastronomical itineraries of this wonderful part of Italy.
Its oldest part was a watch tower in the Middle Age, and it is known that Saint Margherita from Cortona lived here in the XIII century.The little chapel is still a sacred place and small ceremonies can take place in it.
The main restoration with the adding of the merlate tower, is of 1932. The owners live in the house, but the largest part of it is reserved for the guests.On the first floor, 3 double rooms (one with twin beds) and a triple room, all with en suite bathrooms, can accommodate a maximum of 10 people. A sitting room is for exclusive use of the guests.
On the ground floor, a large hall with a piano and a kitchen for exclusive use of the guests, open onto a private garden with swimming pool (10m x 5m).
The owner is a sculptor and his pieces of art are spread all around the house. His workshop is on the part of the house reserved for the family, but he is available to show his work and talk about art.
The family is pleased to help you with any information about the area giving you tips for the best historic and artistic itineraries or where to buy a good wine . You will also be invited for a welcome drink on the tower admiring the perfect Tuscan landscape while sipping a glass of local wine.
