Osteria del Piano is an ancient stone building completely restructured that it maintains the fascination of the ancient "Tavern" that since first of the 800 was point of reference for travellers and traders who came down from mountains in order to trade the cattle.

The Osteria del Piano has 3 wide apartments furnished in traditional tuscany style, a fully equipped swimming pool park and a barbecue area for lunches and suppers in the garden. The property also has a taverna where we cook the traditional bread with potatoes and beyond 3 acres of land .

Osteria del Piano is situated at 2 km from the center of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and is therefore an optimal point of departure in to visit the best point of interest in the Garfagnana Valley: the Park of the Apuan Alps, the National Park of the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano, the Grotta del Vento, traditional villages like Barga, Vagli and Campocatino, the natural area of Orecchiella, many characteristic villages and obviously the historical city of Lucca.

Situated along the "via Francigena", the route leading from the Versilia to Modena, the "Osteria" was a stop for many travellers and merchants going to Castelnuovo Garfagnana. From that time on nothing has changed a great deal. The large courtyard for horses and livestock bought at the market of the time is nowadays used during the year for the drying process of our products. The restyling of the "Osteria del Piano" has brought back to life the ancient activity.

The 3 apartments are made up of two double rooms, bath, equipped kitchen and bedsettee. Each apartment can accommodates 4/6 persons. Each apartment has a television and radio/cd player. In the common areas there are mountain-bikes and a washing machine is available for the guests.

The swimming pool measures 6 x 14 meters and is furnished with deckchair and wood sun beds, a large table useful for lunch and dinner in the barbecue area. Numerous typical restaurants can reached on foot or short walks while the central position of the Osteria in the Garfagnana valley renders this place an optimal point of departure in order to catch up the more evocative angles of the territory.
