REVIEW: Overall we loved B&B Gheller, and would certainly recommend it. The apartment is a perfect escape in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance of the centre. It is quirky and full of character, with a very comfortable bed in the bedroom, a kitchen area, a small dining area, a bathroom with a good shower and a fabulous roof terrace garden. It was wonderful to have our own little garden where we ate breakfast and even lay out sunbathing on the sun loungers in October! The weather was amazing. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and cleaned each day of our stay. The owner, Fiorenza, is charming. Her English is limited but she is very enthusiastic and with a lot of hand waving managed to provide us with a wealth of useful information. On the downside, it was quite a climb up the stairs to reach the apartment, which didn't bother us, but may be an issue for others. Breakfast is left in the apartment the day before, and rather unimpressive -- pre-packaged croissants and cakes, tea and coffee. We hot-footed it to the cafe next door, for great coffee and fresh croissants. Fiorenza explained that the electricity is problematic if you use too many appliances at once. I tried to use the toaster twice, and each time the electrics fused. She fixed it straight away, but I gave up on the toast, and decided not to risk the hairdryer. Again, this didn't really concern us, but may bother others. Overall, I would say it's brilliant value for the price, perfect as a romantic little retreat and we certainly hope to return and stay there again.
