An oasis of peace and quiet in an old-style, warm and welcoming Seventeenth-Century country house

In the hills of Lucca, along the "wine" road which runs up from Montecarlo to Matraia, you will find the "Relais del Lago", an old-style country house which dates back to the Seventeenth Century. The restructuring, carried out with major attention to detail by the owners themselves, aimed to preserve the features of the past but also to give the "Relais" a touch of elegance and originality, not to mention all mod cons, and to ensure that the atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming, whatever the season.

Surrounded by a lush green park, a forest and a lake, the "Relais" is ideal for those who wish to stay among green nature and peace and quiet very close to the important natural, historic and artistic delights of this part of Tuscany.

Elisa and Alessandro have decided to dedicate their time to hospitality and now offer all travellers here a lovely corner of Tuscany where you can really "live" and share your experiences with others in a reciprocal exchange which is good for both the mind and the soul.

The central part of the building is ideal for those looking for the Bed and Breakfast formula: the ground floor contains the shared areas like the kitchen, the dining room and two living rooms with fireplace and piano for you to relax, read and play. The upper floors, then, contain the pastel-coloured bedrooms, which are all different from each other, adorned with ancient furniture and have private en-suite bathrooms and all mod cons.

To the sides of the country house, in the old farmhouse annexes, we have created apartments, also adorned with ancient furniture. They consist of a living room and mini-kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower or hydro-massage bathtub.

Outdoors, you will see the typical courtyard surrounded by aromatic flowers and plants. Here, it is always sunny and there are age-old cypress trees and a lush green park teeming with olive trees, ideal for a nice walk discovering the little vine grove, the woods and the enchanting lake

You can enjoy our fine breakfasts in your room, in the Breakfast Room or in the garden.

Guests here also have use of a panoramic swimming pool (6 x 13m) with fully-equipped solarium and hydro-massage unit, a car park, a lake for fishing, cooking courses, beauty treatments and personal trainers.

The "Relais del Lago", then, is the ideal starting point for visiting the monumental villas of Lucca, the Garfagnana valley area, the thermal spas in Montecatini, Collodi or the big cities of art like Florence and Pisa, coming back every night to an oasis of peace and quiet in the lovely hills of Lucca.
