Funtanarena is a small hotel of quality, realized in a nineteenth-century village at the margin of the historical centre of Codrongianos (Sassari), ruling from the majestic parochial one. Hotel Funtanarena resembles an old manor house and has outdoor terraces, a large residents' car park and it is surrounded by a country park with fruit trees and an olive grove which provides a backdrop for a picturesque hilly landscape.

Funtanarena has nine rooms: two single, three double and four double with a single bed. Each room is different, furnished with period furniture and named after a vegetable essence or after a theme which features in the furnishings: roses, lemons, angels etc.

All rooms are en-suite, central-heated and have a telephone. Rather than having a television, all rooms offer a wide range of books to choose from.

Breakfast is served in the dining room which is located on the ground floor. In summer, it is served on the garden terrace. Room service is also available

Funtanarena, in the intention of its authors, is the hotel for those who want discover angles of Sardinia little known and prefer the nature and the simple and genuine kitchen. The initiative was born from the love that the Sardinians have for their land and from the conviction that the better manner to demonstrate it is to make it know and to appreciate. Funtanarena hotel has been included in the following guide-books: "Lonely Planet", "Italian Touring Club" and italian and european "Slow food"

Codrongianos and the surrounding towns and villages offer some of the most important monumental and archaeological sites in Northern Sardinia, such as Saccargia abbey, the Romanesque Cathedrals of Sorres and Bisarcio, the nuraghic palace of Santu Antine , in Torralba or the underground necropolis of Sant'Andrea Priu, near Bonorva.

For those who are in search of relaxing holiday, staying at Funtanarena offers historical, artistic, archaeological, naturalistic and ethnographic itineraries and is convenient for day-trips by car, walks, bike rides or for going horse-back riding along the old trodden paths. For those who love the sea, the Gulfs of the Asinara and Alghero are only a short distance.
