Garfagnana is the area included between the high and the media valley of the river Serchio with the Apuane Alps to the west and the chain of the Apennines to the east embrace a country of inestimable beauty. Forests, forts and medieval villages are the tangible evidence of a thousand year culture which is today in evidence in daily life and customs. Stir yourself to discover here a land, which to a large part maintains intact its natural environment, following in the footsteps of pilgrims and saints, travelling along the routes they used. From the bottom of the valley you can enter untamed, shaded glens or discover open valleys with wide sun terraces, finally arriving at the rocky, indented peak of the Apuane Alps or at the grassy and undulating summit of the Apennines. It is a land where above all, hospitality is a pleasure, the table is always set and enriched with many local products. In the country it is easy to lose yourself and find yourself in a succession of emotions.
